Uncharted 2: It's here, and I'm playin' it!

Many a day have I waited for the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's sequel to be released. So the second I got wind that it was reciveing a midnight release, fellow eotw member Mike (Solid) and I made plans to be there. With little more than an ipod loaded with episodes of psych, we sat out side of our local gamestop and froze our butts off. Midnight drew nearer and the doors opened, where we were greeted by the mischivous smiles of our gamestop's employees. I've never once gone to a boring midnight release. With our games fully paid off and tickets in hand, we stood in line eagerly awaiting our turn, only to hear the main TV turn on. The trap was sprung. The TV displayed (loudly) cutscenes from the game. Fearing spoilers everyone quickly covered their ears. Some kids actually fled the store. To my unbeliveable luck, I had my iPod filled to the brim with episodes of - you guessed it - Eotw episodes. I cranked the volume to ten, and watched as my peers tried to block the noise. Fully satisfied with their sceme, the GS casheers began handing out the Uncharted copies. We darted out the door, and made haste back to our homes so that we might enjoy this epic game.

Unfortunatly that little adventure was far more fun than my first play session with uncharted. It was after midnight, and I was due some sleep. That being said I was too tired to enjoy my game, and decided to go to bed. The next day however I dived head first into the game, compleating it in roughly two sessions. The game truly passed the standards it set with the first game. Everything looks amazing. So amazing in fact that you can't help but notices the flaws. With everything so perfect, the inconsistencies stick out like a sore thumb. Beyond that the only other problems the game suffers from are minor glitches and the game's layout. Every now and then Nate will get stuck hanging from somthing, and without any where to go, so your only options are to fall to your death, or wait to be shot. As I mentioned The layout is so realisitc that its aften too hard to tell where you're  supposed to go.  more than once I had to rely on the hint system. It's smooth sailing once you've made it passed these minor inconveniances. The action  will get your heart racing and the character's cool attitudes will bring you back to earth. That being said, every character in the game is likeable.. even the enemies! You'll constantly be thinking about the game, there is no room for other thoughts. The main characters will constantly interact verbally, giving you a better sence of what theyre like, and more importantly, it keeps you entertained. Once you've muddled through the boring tutorial (note that even the boring portions are exciting) and you have a better feel for how the controlls work, you'll be leaping from roofs and shooting bad guys in your sleep. It truly is rewarding, but what was really exciting was the online multiplayer. With more modes than you can shake a stick at,uncharted 2's multiplayer is definaly not a side dish. Couple the online mode with a bunch of treasures to find and lots of trophiesto unlock, the replay value is astonoshing.

Uncharted two is definatly going to the contend for game of the year, and should be a part of any PS3 gamer's collection.

i deffinatly recomend it to anyone who is a fan of the first one or who just wants to try out a new 3rd person shooter with an incredable story. the multiplayer is both addicting and loads of fun, from battling it out in deathmatch or finding a way to survbive in coop survival. this is a must get for ps3 owners or at least worth the rent.
