3DS: Diary Day Three/Four ~ Nate Catches a Fish, Loses a Laptop.

Posted by Nate D. on March 31, 2011 at 1:22 AM

Man was I busy yesterday. I hardly had any time to play my 3DS. I'm actually writing this on my iPad to save some time. My laptop, which is my main computer, died on me the other day. With our recently recorded podcast on it by the way.

In any case, I decided to write this next blog for both yesterday and today, sorry for the delay. Yes today was also rather slow. I managed to get my hands on a couple of cameras, so videos will be coming out soon enough.

I'm absolutely in love with the charge cradle that comes with the system. It helps me -a hugely forgetful person- remember to charge my system, which so far, has yet to die on me during a game session. I've been checking in on my nintendog everyday, which can last for an hour or two. I've been playing a lot of Rayman, but I could really go for a more substantial game, like zelda. Though that might just be because I've owned other ports of this Rayman game, and previous versions of nintendogs.

The AR games continue to impress. I purchased a fishing game last night. A pole extended from the front of my 3ds, which could be waved about to cast my line into water, which happened to be my bed. Beneath my rippling sheets, were the shadows of potential catches. After landing a few mackerels, an immense water dragon rose from the depths of my mattress, and my lure turned from a bobber into a lethal bomb. Explosions and roars filled the air. Eventually I overpowered the beast, and was given a chance to guide a hook into it's gaping mouth, and catch it. The experience left me wide eyed, and grinning from ear to ear. Did I mention I used a scanned AR card on my iPad to play the game?

It's been four days. One would think I would have found every feature of the system by now, yes? Well, I promise I'll let you know when that happens.
